Welcome to the 1st Ascension Island Scout Group
Hello and welcome to Ascension Island and the web site of the 1st Ascension Island Scout Group. We are sure you'll enjoy seeing a little of what we do here on this unique and beautiful Island. Ascension Island offers some exciting Scouting experiences for our young people.

The 1st Ascension Island Scout Group
The picture above shows the 1st Ascension Island Scout Group posing for our annual photograph taken just after the 1999 Remembrance Day Service on Nov 14.
Although we are called the 1st Ascension Island Scout Group, we are (and always have been) the only Scout Group on Ascension Island and in 1998, we were proud to have celebrated our 25th anniversary.
We have approximately 18 Scouts, 12 Cubs and 8 Beavers. We are a little unusual (and lucky) in having nearly 100% of boys on the Island as members of the Scouts, Cub Scouts and Beaver Scouts. Unfortunately we do not currently run a Venture Scout Unit. Some of our members come from the UK, but primarily they come from St. Helena or born as St. Helenians on Ascension Island.
