World Friendship Diary

Friday 26 November 1999

Today we went fishing on a barge that usually carries cargo from ships to the pier at Georgetown.

We had a great time and we caught loads and loads of Grouper fish as well as a Soldier fish and a Conger eel.

Ryan shows off his catch.......

..... and so does Andreas

We reckon Craig caught the biggest Grouper fish!

Alex was also pleased with his fish.

Richard had a great time

Ricco helped to steer the barge and we did'nt even get lost!

Nathan was feeling seasick but soon felt better when he caught this fish..........

.....but he was seasick a few minutes later.... Poor Nathan!

As we sailed back to shore we pretended that we were Marines and shoot Georgetown!

This was a great adventure...... thanks!

After the fishing, Akela took us back to our Headquarters, the Scout's Beach Hut, and Andreas's dad, "Junior" prepared the fish for cooking.

Our parents came down to help us eat all the fish! We had chips with the fish and it tasted excellent. And after eating, we sang lots of songs (and so did our parents!).
There was quite a bit of fish left over so we have frozen some of it and we will have it next weekend when we go camping up Green Mountain.

Our next meeting is on Tuesday (30th Nov 99) when we may be visiting the Fire Station, which we were supposed to visit last week. If we can't go there, we're going trekking............. See you then!
