World Friendship Diary

Wednesday 24 November 1999

Today we were supposed to be going to visit the fire station at the Royal Air Force base. But this was cancelled at the last minute as an aircraft from the Falkland Islands was arriving. Anyway, all was not lost as we went swimming at Two Boats village swimming pool instead where most of us got our Stage 1 and 2 swimming badges. It has been very, very hot today so we thought it a brilliant idea to go for a swim and cool down instead!

Hello Covington and Sechelt Cub Scouts from the Ascension Island Cub Scouts!

After the swimming badges, we had a great game of waterpolo where Baghera got very wet whilst holding the goal (a life ring) between his knees!

Normally, we only meet once a week. But on Friday we've got a special night when we will be going fishing on motorised pontoon/barge. After this we're having a fish fry at our beach hut headquarters and all our parents will be coming to eat our catch!!!
